An OEM steering wheel is a compromise — leather thick enough to last a fleet life, foam soft enough not to fatigue any driver, spokes wide enough to mount every market's button layout. It is correct, anonymous, and built to disappear into the dashboard.
A bespoke carbon wheel is the opposite. Rim diameter chosen for your driving position. Grip thickness chosen for your hand. Alcantara on the 9 and 3, perforated leather on the bottom, a centred top stripe that tells you instantly when the front wheels are straight. Every factory feature kept. Nothing generic remains.

What is the difference between trims and a custom steering wheel?
Trims are decorative inserts that glue or clip onto your existing steering wheel spokes — the OEM wheel stays in place. A custom steering wheel is a complete replacement: we take your original wheel, strip it to the core, laminate new carbon fiber spokes, re-wrap the rim in leather or Alcantara, and reinstall your original airbag and controls.
Do I need to send you my steering wheel for a custom build?
No. For custom steering wheels we didn't require your original wheel as a core exchange.
Will the trims fit my specific model year?
Our trims are segmented by pre-LCI and LCI facelifts where BMW changed spoke geometry. For Mini we distinguish Gen 1 (R53), Gen 2 (R55-R61) and F-chassis. Each product page specifies exact compatibility — check your build date if uncertain.
How do I care for the carbon fiber finish?
Treat it like a painted body panel: pH-neutral shampoo, no abrasive sponges, and a ceramic coating is welcome. Avoid silicone-based dashboard sprays on the clear coat — they can haze the gloss over time. The forged carbon finish is slightly more forgiving but benefits from the same care.
